EYH Winter 2026 Cubs Beginner Hockey 1

Welcome to the EYH Winter 2026 Cubs Beginner Hockey 1 Registration

This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment. Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately. To complete registration through our secure site, please have your credit/debit card or bank information available.

EYH Cubs Beginner Hockey 1
Ages:  4 - 10 years old (2015 - 2021)
Prerequisite:  N/A (new skaters welcome)

Clinic Information - 7 weekly sessions (on Saturday mornings)

Day: January 31st - March 28th (NO SESSIONS ON 2/14 OR 3/14)
Time: 9:05am - 9:50am
Location: Everett Community Ice Rink


The objectives of Hockey 1 are centered around the fundamentals of ice skating. It’s important for beginner players to become comfortable on the ice, learn the basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend, use of edges and how to hold a stick before moving onto Cubs Hockey 2.   Below is a detailed list of the objectives for Hockey 1:

A. Players will be able to fall and recover to a balanced standing position

B. Players will be able to stand properly on the ice in the basic hockey stance (forward and backward)

C. Players will be able to march forward across the ice, 8-10 steps

D. Players will be able to two-foot glide and dip from forward march across the ice

E. Players will be able to forward swizzle/double c-cut (4-6 in a row)

F. Players will be able to T-push to a two-foot glide (hold 2-4 seconds) on a straight line, alternating feet

G. Players will be able to snowplow stop, stationary and moving

Bonus skill:  Players will be able to turn front to back and turn back to front (stationary)

USA Hockey Requirement

Each Player must register first with USA Hockey and then return to this Registration Session to signup for the Beginner Session.

  • Step 1:  CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with USA Hockey. Each player must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.
  • Step 2:  Return to this registration and proceed. Later in this registration session you will need to enter the USA Hockey Confirmation Code that you received in Step 1.
